Abercorn Primary School

Learning and Working Together “The quality of education provided by this school is outstanding” January 2014 ETI

We offer a rich and varied curriculum that provides continuity and progression and takes individual differences into account. We endeavour to help each child reach their full potential and achieve as high a standard as he/she can.
The Northern Ireland Curriculum places considerable emphasis on the development of thinking skills and personal capabilities so our work involves children in managing information, being creative, working with others, problem solving, decision making and active learning skills.Taking into account the various stages of development and differing rates of learning our teaching methods will carefully match the needs of each pupil.

In 2016/17 our School Development Plan focuses on the area of  talking and listening in literacy, process based activities in numeracy and in World Around Us continued emphasis on more science skills.
