Homeward bound. Enjoying The Glasgow Science Centre currently.
Have just returned to hotel after another busy day. The butterfly farm was amazing with some pupils conquering their phobias of spiders and snakes. Then we visited the museum which was vast and very interactive for the pupils. On the way to The Royal Mile we said hello to Grey Friars Bobby and visited the neighbouring graveyard to see his grave and his master's, John Grey. The graveyard also provided J. K. Rowling with the names of some of the characters for her Harry Potter books. Of course, we fitted in some last minute shopping on The Royal Mile before tea and this was followed by a trip to the bowling alley where the pupils were determined to beat the teachers.
On arrival at the hotel, we were informed a note had been left for the staff. A very kind guest had taken the time to pen us a complimentary note before he departed - see below. We are all tired tonight and have an early start in the morning. Rooms are being tidied and pjs are on. Hoping for an early night!
Very proud of our pupils. They have been complimented on their behaviour by hotel staff and members of the public alike. One former teacher from Scotland even took the trouble to send us a message on Facebook.
We have had another enjoyable day and pupils are now tucked up in bed. We visited Edinburgh Castle this morning and then moved on to Dynamic Earth where the pupils were mesmerised by the interactive displays and presentations. The pupils loved the tour of Britannia and of course once again the shopping went well.
