Today we had lots of fun at the disco, and we are happy to be off for half term!

On Monday, Natalie (a past pupil) helped us with our Art lesson. She showed us how to produce rocket pictures based on the work of an artist called Peter Thorpe.  Natalie is doing A Level art, and we were very impressed by her talent! We really enjoyed planning our art and using new techniques to produce our own rocket pictures with pastels on sugar paper.

Thank you Natalie.

We all had a super time over Christmas.  We are back to school and ready for a new term.

Our topic this term is Space.

Recently we had a No Pens Day in school.
We very much enjoyed not having to write in our books or on whiteboards!! We took part in Numeracy and Literacy activities which were all based around talking and listening.  Here are some photos of our fun day of learning;

We are a multi-talented bunch in P6! As well as working very hard in class...

Erin Boyd represented our class as part of a team from Abercorn to compete in the Credit Union quiz.
We were very proud of Erin for making the team.  Great job Erin!

Jack Chambers, Zack Magill, Adam Jones and Maddy Ireland represented our school at the first football tournament of 2017.  Super work boys!

Some of our class enjoyed a great time at Killowen Outdoor Education Centre before half term.

This term is a very busy one with lots happening before Christmas.

We visited our local library.  We have developed our understanding of fiction and non-fiction books.

On Wednesday 16th November we had a visit from a Theatre Company.  We really enjoyed their show Pinocchio.  We have written our own play scripts based on the story of Pinocchio.

During Parliament Week (14th-18th November), we participated in a class debate.  The motion was - Pizza should never be served for lunch in school as it is not a healthy option. We had lots of fun preparing our speeches and posters for the debate.  We voted to keep pizza on the school lunch menu!

Here are are some photos of our talking and listening group work to prepare for the debate.
