HEALTHY LIFESTYLE WEEK
Last week the whole school took part in Healthy Lifestyle Week.
We had a whole school picnic outside in the playground. We enjoyed lovely, healthy food, and the rain stayed away!
We all took part in a colour run.
The school provided a healthy break for each class. We tried lots of fruits including pomegranate, pineapple, kiwi, strawberries and blueberries. We also made delicious fruit smoothies.
We enjoyed coaching sessions from Paul Evans and Aaron Nelson.
We took part in a live online training session led by the Body Coach.
We also visited Lidl for a store tour, where we learnt about healthy eating.
We all had a brilliant week learning about how to stay healthy.
To celebrate the end of our topic we had an 'Australia day'.
Some people brought in Australian objects from home.
We all had a go at playing the didgeridoo, it was very difficult!
Mr Craig taught us how to play Aussie rules football.
We also had a go at throwing a boomerang.
On Monday 24th October we all wore yellow to raise money for, and awareness of the charity 'Shine'.
Shine provides specialist support from before birth and throughout the life of anyone living with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus, as well as to parents, families, carers and professional care staff. Shine enables people to get the best out of life.
This is a very important charity to our class. We all had great fun dressing up, particularly Bronte!

We had a very exciting day on Tuesday 11th October.
Mike Forney, one of the Belfast Giants, came to visit!
We found out all about how to stay healthy by making sure we make healthy choices when we are eating and ensuring we are exercising each day.
Mike Forney even demonstrated some of the exercises we could do!
We got to ask him questions, received autographs from the whole team and free tickets to a Belfast Giants game!
Our topic this term is Australia.
We have been learning all about Australian animals, landmarks and the Aboriginal culture.
Mia brought in a didgeridoo and we had a go at playing it. It was quite difficult!
