P3 TRIP TO TONNAGHMORE ANIMAL FARM
On Friday 2nd June P3 had an end of year trip to
Tannaghmore Animal Farm in Craigavon.
We got to see lots of different animals, including saddle back pigs,
Galway sheep and Chinese geese.
We started our day eating our break in the park before enjoying some playtime...
...then we began our treasure hunt to find different shades of plants before having a picnic lunch.
OUR VISIT TO THE FIRE STATION
As part of our People Who Help Us topic P3S/L paid a visit to Banbridge Fire station. We met two firemen called Dessie and Richie. They gave us a tour of the fire station and showed us all the different equipment the firefighters use. After the tour we got to ask lots of questions about their job. Before leaving the fire station we got to shoot water out of the fire hose. We all had great fun!
We all listened to Dessie and Richie as they told us all about the fire engine.
Dessie explains how the firemen know when and where they are needed.
Dessie shows us how the firemen put on their protective clothing before going on a job.
We all enjoyed our trip to the fire station!
P3S/L made Easter buns. First we washed our hands. Next we got our ingredients and followed the recipe to make malt buns. Then we decorated them with chicks and eggs. Lovely!
On 6th April P3S/L had a visit from a local optician. We learnt a lot about our eyes. Mrs Law really suits her new glasses!
As part of our Fairy Tales topic P3S/L have been creating our favourite characters.
P3S/L enjoying a rest and a drink after all that dancing!
P3S/L enjoyed an Autumn sensory walk in Solitude Park.
Our topic is Journey of a letter. We learnt what happens to a letter after we post it. We wrote our letters to Santa and posted them on 1st December. We walked down to the post-box at the bottom of the school drive.
P3S/L were busy making Christmas crafts. We made Christmas cards, elves and Santas, gingerbread men and 2017 calendars.
We then had a treat and went to
NO PENS DAY
As part of our Talking and Listening Skills we had a no pens day on Friday 6th January. Our topic at present is Fairy tales and we were learning about the Three Little Pigs. Instead of writing we created different types of houses using lollypop sticks, creative mosaic and Lego.
